We are seeking a highly motivated individual to undertake maiontenance and laundry activities, ensuring that SET / Rental and customer products undergo full decontamination, maintenance, and service procedures to Company standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out the cleaning/decontamination of set/rental/customer products in accordance with company infection control procedures, whilst seeking to optimise use of time and minimize associated costs.
  • Ensure conversance with the products, Company health and safety requirements and arrangements, so work is done in a professional and safe manner.
  • Complete and submit all relevant documentation accurately both manually and electronically.
  • Assist in the loading, unloading and storage of set/rental/customer products within the depot and be responsible for the cleanliness/tidiness of the dirty storage, cleaning side, clean rental and set storage areas.
  • Carry out repair/testing to mattresses, pumps, bedframes, hoists, slings, and non-electrical products.
  • Check that relevant products are within service date and have correct labelling.
  • Any equipment needing preventative maintenance or repair must be processed through the workshop and the correct documentation completed.
  • All slings must be checked using the sling tester and recorded as checked.
  • Feedback any recommendations on an ongoing basis to contribute ideas and observations in a professional manner, which may support ongoing improvement in Arjo products and services.
  • Ensure personal appearance and levels of hygiene are of an exemplary standard in keeping with the Company’s market area and ethos.
  • Ensure that the depot laundry and SET TME area is cleaned and tidied in line with the Company Infection Control procedures and recorded on the relevant documentation as required.
  • Maintain all equipment, spares, tools, and other equipment within their care in a safe working condition highlighting anything unsafe to the Hygiene Centre Team Lead immediately. Any losses, breakages, excess wear, and tear should be reported to the Hygiene Centre Team Leader to authorize them to obtain replacements.
  • Liaise with Arjo Rental Administrators and customer contacts to advise schedules for laundered products.
  • Carry out the labelling of set, rental, customer products and the daily communication of product information to Arjo Rental Administrators is maintained.
  • Highlight to team lead / senior managers any shortcomings, malpractice or dishonesty contrary to Company policies and procedures discovered in the course of carrying out duties.
  • Operate the depot laundry equipment and monitoring software as instructed by the Hygiene Centre Team Leader and to record the movements of all laundered products through the laundry processes.
  • Fully adhere to all Infection Control standards/procedures at all times
  • Clean/decontaminate/service/repair products as required by workload/the Hygiene Centre Team Leader.

The skills you will need:

  • Basic understanding of engineering principles.
  • Ability to work with hand tools. (Essential)
  • Engineering / electrical experience preferred but not essential.
  • Good working knowledge of Computer based systems.
  • Methodical, logical, and practical approach to tasks.
  • Ability to prioritise work and amend priorities.
  • Ability to recognise when to escalate matters.
  • Experience of updating records methodically and accurately.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety principles.
  • Knowledge of product decontamination in an industrial laundry preferred but not essential.
  • A positive and team orientated approach, whilst being able to work autonomously.
  • Must be able to lift or move bulky mattresses, bedframes, or hoists.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A methodical, logical, and practical approach.
  • Ability to prioritise work.
  • A positive and team-oriented approach, whilst being able to work autonomously.
  • Thorough understanding of Health and Safety principles.
  • Experience in medical devices/healthcare environment preferred.
