The purpose of the Rental and Service Technician is to ensure efficiency in delivery, collection, repair, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of Arjo supplier Rental and Capital equipment
As the Rental & Service Technician you will be responsible for:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Rental Technician
- Ensure delivery, installation, and collection of rental equipment within company SLA and 4-hour turnaround time.
- Perform troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairs on rental pumps and mattresses, including accurate completion of service job cards.
- Manage inventory of rental spares within the depot and conduct regular cycle counts and stock takes.
- Provide installation training to end users.
- Maintain adequate stock in the service vehicle to ensure efficient turnaround.
- Operate and maintain the company vehicle in a lawful manner and in compliance with company policies.
- Be available for 24-hour call on a rostered basis or as instructed.
- Handle and clean products in accordance with company infection control policies.
- Assist in the decontamination process for pumps and mattresses when required.
- Advise management on market trends and developments.
- Take reasonable care for personal safety and that of others by reporting hazards, accidents, or incidents to the supervisor.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in hospitals, aged care facilities, clinics, and similar environments.
- Perform other relevant duties as requested.
Service Technician
- Service and repair Arjo equipment to full working capacity, including PAC and IPC systems.
- Plan and execute all service backorders.
- Schedule and attend service callouts promptly.
- Deliver in-house and external product training as required.
- Complete job cards for all service repairs, warranty work, and labour jobs.
- Conduct service assessments in hospitals or as requested by Regional Field Service Technicians.
- Capture and maintain accurate data and records of assessments.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently and within required timeframes.
- Plan and execute country trips to outlying areas for assessments, repairs, and service-related queries.
- Maintain high standards of service and technical support for all customers.
- Manage stock control effectively for planned repairs and services.
- Complete warranty repairs and submit inspection reports to QRC.
- Carry out field actions as directed by the Quality Team.
- Assist with in-house service-related queries and requirements.
- Perform disassembly and reassembly of products internally or externally as needed.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through professional interaction.
- Prepare and submit daily activity reports and forward planners.
- Collaborate closely with Regional Field Service Technicians on regional plans, strategies, and execution.
- Keep service tools in good working condition.
- Perform all duties in compliance with ARJO SOP standards.
Administrative Duties:
- Complete installation and cancellation documentation accurately.
- Prepare and submit daily activity reports.
- Maintain transaction logs for all assets, including bed days, contracts, serial numbers, service records, and contact details.
- Validate and update assessment data reports and quotations.
- Submit weekly planners and update daily task reports with relevant outcomes and required actions.
- Ensure timely submission of job cards, invoices, and delivery notes.
- Manage email communication for NCRs, delivery notes, and other related documentation.
Quality System Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
- Maintain high level of compliance and adherence to all quality regulations
Knowledge and Experience:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous technical service and repair experience.
- Valid driver’s license with experience in driving and maintaining a company vehicle.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
- Availability for standby duty after hours during weekdays and weekends.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
