Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday-9.00am-17.00pm with a 30 minute lunch,

The impact you will have


Working as part of the Service division based in the Republic of Ireland, you will be responsible for the Servicing of Medical Devices within acute hospitals, long term nursing units as well as private customer homes and charitable organisations. You will be responsible for the management of your own stock, this can either be delivered to your home or you can arrange to collect it at various designated collection points. The majority of equipment you will be working with will be Overhead Hoists, Beds, Mattresses, Baths, Trolleys & Bed Pan Washers. We are the global market leader in the medical device industry and part of an expanding and growing Group company. This is an excellent time to join our business as a Service Engineer in this busy, fast-paced position covering Republic of Ireland.

 

All IT equipment such as IPad and IPhone will be provided for as well as a company van which can also be used for private use if necessary. A valid driver’s licence is essential and you will need to supply documents for Garda Vetting as you will be working in areas with vulnerable people. You need to work independently and be able to priorities your individual work load which will be sent directly to your personal Ipad. It is essential that you have a methodical and practical approach so that all work orders are completed in a timely manner that there is limited disruption to patients or hospital staff.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out service itinerary in accordance with Company and Service procedures, whilst seeking to optimise use of time and minimise associated costs.
  • Ensure he/she is fully conversant with products working on, Company and Local Health and Safety requirements and arrangements so work on customer’s premises is done in a professional and safe manner.
  • Complete and submit all relevant documentation accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • On arrival at customer’s premises, to inform staff of reason for visit and request permission before carrying out required work. Upon completion of required work, to ensure work area is clean and tidy, disposal of parts and chemicals is in line with site instructions and relevant documentation is fully completed, correctly authorised and required copies left with authorising employee.
  • Feedback any recommendations to Arjo following visits to customers premises, and on an ongoing basis to contribute ideas and observations in a professional manner, that may support ongoing improvement in Arjo and products and services.
  • Ensure personal appearance and levels of hygiene and health are of an exemplary standard in keeping with the Company’s market area and ethos.
  • Maintain all tools, spares and equipment in a safe working condition highlighting anything unsafe to Line Manager immediately
  • Liaise with Arjo Service Admin and Customer contacts to advise intended appointment times and duration of work to ensure customers are fully informed at all times

 

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

Ideally you will have previous experience working in a similar role and be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • City and Guild/NFQ Level 6 or higher or similar qualifications in mechanical/electrical engineering
  • Mechanical/electrical engineering experience – essential.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills along with competent computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to motivate others
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Work at heights
  • Experience in use of power tools and following installation manuals
  • Requirement to travel & overnight stays in various locations with ROI
  • Must hold a full driving licence
  • A Garda Vetting check will be carried out (at the cost of Arjo)

Upon commencement of employment we will also provide you with comprehensive product training at our dedicated Technical Training Centre based in UK.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

  • You will be required to participate on an out of hours rota
  • Applicants must live within a reasonable distance to the area covered
  • A full driving licence is required as you will be required to drive a company van
