Position: Systems Compliance Specialist
Location: Houghton Regis – Hybrid working
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

 

The impact you will have:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Compliance Specialist to join us at our Houghton Regis Head office.  As a true “business enabler” you will work with stakeholders across the business to support and embrace compliance, and to develop and continuously improve our SHEQ  management systems to enhance performance and delight our customers . 

 

Working closely with the Arjo UKI Sales, Service and Rentals teams, you will be monitoring compliance to Quality, Health and Safety, Environmental and other regulatory requirements and standards by identifying gaps and evaluating deficiencies, promoting compliance within projects and business opportunities,  while ensuring continuous improvement and quality in all aspects of service delivery, minimizing business risk and maximising business opportunities.

Duties will include:

UKI Legal and Compliance Requirements:

  • Undertake reviews on various applicable government websites and other information sources for changes to or new regulations that may affect the business
  • Review and update the associated legal register with any applicable changes
  • Review and amend management system procedures associated with any changes to the regulations to ensure compliance
  • Take an active role in the HSE committee and work with internal stakeholder4s to provide support and guidance and pro-actively promote engagement, participation and ownership to drive continual HSE performance improvements
  • Prepare and submit data into various platforms in line with external and internal regulatory and compliance related requirements

UKI IMS Management Systems:

  • Regular reviews of the Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety management systems to ensure they meet ISO systems requirements and business needs, and to identify improvement opportunities to continually evolve and improve performance
  • Ensure procedures are maintained, updated and versions controlled in line with procedures and are accessible to Arjo employees via our internal platforms
  • Support staff inductions and ensure employees have access to applicable QRC platforms and sites
  • Prepare and deliver QHSE training that may be required and ensure records are maintained
  • Compile ad hoc and scheduled reports for monthly Senior Leaders Team meeting and management system reviews
  • Provide support and assist the business in the completion of tender submissions to maximize potential business gains
  • Review, update and develop product PAQs to support UKI business
  • Maintain the approved supplier / distributor list and process and approve applications in line with procedures
  • Maintain accreditations and memberships and ensure that these are updated in line with system and scheme requirements
  • Encourage ownership, engagement and promote compliance of management systems, legislative and other requirements across all business operations

Risk Management:

  • Undertake regular reviews of risks associated with Arjo UKI business operations and work with stake holders to ensure appropriate risk assessments are in place to manage and reduce risk so far as is reasonably practicable

Internal / External Audits and Assessments:

  • Carry out audits and assessments in line with the audit schedule and comply with Trackwise system audit requirements including generation and distribution of reports
  • Record findings into the Trackwise system and follow up on any findings to ensure effective corrections / corrective actions are completed in a timely manner and in line with agreed targets
  • Escalate all major issues identified to Arjo UKI Management
  • Carry out preparations and participate in any external audits being undertaken
  • Any other QRC related duties that may be required

Project Participation / Management:

  • Support the business with projects to ensure that quality, environmental and health and safety requirements are considered and met within project scope to ensure compliance
  • Ensure QRC projects are organized, progress and managed in line with project plan with records maintained

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational H&S and /or Environmental Health as a minimum
  • Working knowledge and experience of ISO management systems, specifically ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
  • At least 3 years experience working within a SHEQ/Compliance environment
  • Trained auditor/Auditing experience
  • Working knowledge of Office Suite including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Excel
  • Competent trainer, presenter
