The Product Development & Engineering team is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial research and development through product launch and ongoing support (sustaining engineering).

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Define, develop, implement and verify mechanical system and sub-system requirements
• Identify and apply relevant Design-For-X methodologies
• Perform and document product risk analyses and specify risk control measures at the mechanical system and subsystem level
• Construct and evaluate proof-of-concept and prototype builds 
• Design mechanical and mechanic systems and subsystems and create architecture for the product 
• Develop, test and document deliverables using mechanical CAD system and benchtesting according to the Arjo development process, quality system and best practice 
• Identify, evaluate, support prioritization decisions and develop improvements to the mechanical parts and system of existing products to support strategies for increased performance, cost, quality and value
• Secure production and product continuity by solving production challenges and performing obsolescence and life cycle updates
• Perform technical analysis of change requests, trouble reports, CAPAs and claims, and plan the execution of complex changes as assigned
• Create, plan, execute and document tests to verify quality and compliance of the design, according to assigned task
• Design, implement, validate and maintain test tools and equipment
• Define requirements based on standards and input, and ensure completeness, correctness and traceability, according to assigned task 

Key Duties:

• Lead the transfer of complex welded steel structures between suppliers and production sites, ensuring quality, manufacturability, and cost targets are achieved.
• Redesign and simplify existing products to support alternative manufacturing and welding methods, including conversion of welded fabrications to cast components where beneficial
• Act as a technical partner to Manufacturing Engineering and suppliers, driving continuous improvement and cost reduction (Value Engineering / Design-to-Cost initiatives)
• Apply reverse engineering techniques to recreate, optimize and improve existing designs
• Perform tolerance analysis (GD&T) and FEM/FEA calculations to validate designs, optimize material usage, and ensure structural performance of welded assemblies

Skills and experience you will need in this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanics or mechanical engineering
• Skilled in modern mechanical product development and engineering best practice and applicable tools (SolidWorks/PDM)
• Experience working in a regulated industry
• Very good English skills in written and verbal communication (min. B2 level)
• Fluency in Polish
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and assignments
• Ability to approach tasks and problems with a structured and outcome-oriented mindset
• Ability to find benefits and synergies within interdisciplinary and cross-cultural team collaborations
• Strong communication skills – ability to convey ideas clearly and in a structured manner, adapting communication to different situations and audiences
• Ability to build trusting and collaborative relationships
