The research and development team in Magog is looking for a new mechanical design project manager. Do you want to contribute to the design of equipment that changes lives? Join us!

 

Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Lead the development of new patient lifts and mobility aids according to the product development process (PDP) and regulatory requirements;
  • Translate user needs and desired product features into technical solutions;
  • Find innovative technical solutions to meet needs/requirements while ensuring the design is robust, safe, high-performing, manufacturable by suppliers at an acceptable cost, and easy to assemble in production;
  • Write detailed design requirements;
  • Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis of test results (in laboratories and with users) regarding the development of new products;
  • Find solutions to correct design-related problems;
  • Participate in the assembly of prototypes;
  • Review and approve 3D and 2D drawings;
  • Participate in product certification processes;
  • Develop and review documentation related to research and development projects, including risk analyses;
  • Ensure liaison with other departments (engineering, purchasing, production, QA) for the introduction of new products.

 

Requirements:

  • University degree in mechanical engineering, combined with 0-5 years of experience related to the position (Product development is an asset);
  • Proficiency in French (5/5);
  • Proficiency in English (4/5), as you will need to communicate in English with other Arjo product development sites to share best practices and ensure documentation;
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a team;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes;
  • Knowledge of material resistance;
  • Experience with CAD software is an asset;
  • Experience in finite element analysis is an asset;
  • Empathy towards users and ability to understand the context of product use;
  • Rigor, creativity, manual skills, autonomy;
  • Ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Availability to travel abroad occasionally.
