Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and maintenance of textile-based patient mobility products, such as slings and lateral transfer products, in accordance with the product development process (PDP) and regulatory requirements
- Translate user needs and desired product features into technical solutions
- Find innovative technical solutions to meet needs and requirements while ensuring that the design is robust, safe, high-performing, manufacturable by suppliers at an acceptable cost, easy to assemble in production, and meets corporate environmental requirements
- Write detailed design requirements
- Guide pattern makers in designing cutting patterns and establishing measurement charts
- Participate in the assembly of prototypes
- Review and approve cutting patterns and assembly drawings
- Develop and review documentation related to research and development projects, including risk analyses
- Collaborate in the preparation of technical files for tax credit applications
Requirements:
- Degree in industrial design or textile-related design, with at least 5 years of experience relevant to the position
- Fluency in French (4/5)
- Fluency in English (4/5); Spanish an asset
- Knowledge of textile manufacturing and assembly processes
- Experience with specialized CAD software for textile patterns (Gerber Accumark, Lectra Modaris, Optitex PDS, PAD System, or other)
- Experience with AutoCAD an asset
- Willingness to travel abroad occasionally
