What is the opportunity?

Arjo Magog is a manufacturing site dedicated to the assembly of patient handling equipment. As the Senior Director of Operations, your mission is to lead our Magog Manufacturing site toward operational excellence and productivity. Reporting to the Vice President Manufacturing, you will be based in Magog while being an integral part of a global leadership team, contributing to initiatives and decisions that have an impact worldwide.

 

We are looking for a person to:

  • Serve as the leader of the local Executive Management team and member of the global manufacturing leadership team 
  • Guide employees and leaders in achieving the organization’s goals and ambitions in accordance with internal and external procedures.
  • Be responsible for the overall site budget and ensure compliance with both internal and external regulations.

 

Your key duties will be:

 

Operations and resource management:
•    Plan, direct, control and coordinate plant activities, optimizing productivity, efficiency and product quality;
•    Manage human, financial and material resources to achieve predetermined objectives in collaboration with management team;
•    Ensure implementation and compliance with standards (health & safety, environmental, and others) and with regulatory expectations (ISO, FDA, and others).


Process planning and improvement :
•    Ensure the implementation of programs to ensure the efficient use of various resources to achieve organizational objectives;
•    Participate in long-term strategic planning at managerial and executive levels.

 

Financial Management :
•    Actively participate in the development and optimization of operations to ensure the company's sustainability;
•    Develop and manage the plant budget, focusing on cost control and resource optimization.
•    Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising compliance or quality.
•    Collaborate with departmental management to develop financial plans;

 

About you:

You are known to be efficient, solution-driven and manage stakeholders efficiently. You  have a proven track-record of solid manufacturing management and a strong communicator.

 

To be successful in this position, you will ideally possess:

 

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

•    Advanced degree in administration, engineering or related field, combined with 10 to 15 years' relevant experience in regulated manufacturing environment (medical, automotive, food, aviation, etc). A combination of relevant academic background and professional experience can be considered
•    Minimum 10 years' experience in operational management
•    Fluency in French and English (4/5);
•    Communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Management and change management skills.
•    Preferred Six Sigma Green Belt & Six Sigma Leaders qualifications
