Empowering careers at ARJO
At Arjo, we know what moves us. We go above and beyond for people facing mobility challenges. We take every opportunity to work and grow as one team and take pride in sharing our knowledge and experience. Does that sound like something that moves you too?
This could be your opportunity to begin a challenging and rewarding career in a healthcare company that empowers movement for people with mobility challenges.
Empowering careers at ARJO
Humans are made to move. Imagine a life without mobility, with limited independence, dignity and health. Although we cannot restore full mobility, we can make a difference to people's quality of life, both for patients and residents as well as for their caregivers.
This could be an opportunity for you to get an insight into a company that increases people's quality of life through increased mobility. Does this sound like something that moves you? Then we think you should take the chance and write your thesis at Arjo.
Arjo has for several years offered both summer jobs and master’s thesis for students.
Cassandra Hennström studied at LTH and wrote her master thesis at Arjo, which later also led to permanent employment. Today, Cassandra works as a Product Owner at our head office in Malmö. This is how Cassandra describes her first contact with Arjo:
I wrote my thesis at Arjo as I was looking to enter the medical technology industry and work with aids for both healthcare providers and patients, which Arjo captures with all its products. I was well received, got to learn how a company works, what challenges and opportunities healthcare has, as well as how someone new to the job market can find their particular interest in what they want to work with. Something I really got out of being at Arjo is to feel that what you spend your time on every day really makes a difference – to contribute to a better everyday life for people through solutions for mobility and dignity. I couldn't have thought of a better company to write my thesis for. I was listened to and included and had an opportunity to grow into working life. After completing my thesis, I got an opportunity to continue within Arjo and today work as a product owner.
David Möttus studies Mechanical Engineering and Economics at LTH. David works extra at Arjo during his studies, most recently as a verification assistant. This is how David describes his work at Arjo:
What Arjo does so well when it comes to work tasks is that they make sure that you get the opportunity to challenge yourself while doing something that is important to the organization!
Another factor that has meant a lot to me is that I have been able to test many different aspects of RD! For example, I have had to help with verification, which has involved both lifetime tests and chemical tests. I also got to work with the software team where I built mathematical models that were used in testing and programming. There have also been a lot of sanity check tests. I feel that I have gained a completely different understanding of what RD means after working with so many different things at Arjo.
I also feel that the community at the company is very strong as everyone feels that they are working towards something that is very important for society. Thus, Arjo's fine values and mission are truly reflected in the company's culture.
I really hope that I get the chance to work at Arjo for the rest of my studies and even after. It is a fantastic "learning opportunity" that should not be underestimated.

Role: Master’s Thesis – “To suggest design tools to support our R&D to develop even more environmentally sustainable products”
Location: Malmö, Hybrid
Arjo is seeking student(s) for a thesis work related to how to improve our development process in order for us to develop even more sustainable and environmentally friendly products.
At Arjo we believe that some type of practical and visual support tool for design decisions would be very helpful for our engineering teams.
There is more and more knowledge in the field of how to develop more sustainable products. New methodologies and related tools on how to best get use of this knowledge is continuously being introduced to the market.
The goal with this assignment is to suggest a set of tools (existing, adapted or “custom made”) to us.
The project includes:
1. Understanding the complexity in our value chain and also the total life cycle of some of our typical products
2. Defining and prioritizing Arjo´s needs in relation to our sustainability targets already set.
3. Evaluate existing, or develop own design tools to support our design process. Input from academia is most welcome here.
4. Simulate suggested set of tools on a pilot project to evaluate usability of the tool(s) and to assess what results we can expect when used.
5. Conclude findings and recommendations with suggested tool(s) validated through a pilot project.
