Role Purpose

To ensure efficient and compliant branch operations by managing rental fleet performance, monitoring systems and processes, and driving data-led insights. The role focuses on optimizing asset utilization, improving operational efficiency, and enabling seamless coordination across branches and cross-functional teams to support business performance and revenue growth.

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager – Operations will support the end‑to‑end operational efficiency of branch functions, rental fleet management, system monitoring, and process compliance. The role requires strong analytical skills, coordination with cross‑functional teams, and regular branch engagement to ensure seamless operations across the network.

Key Responsibilities

1. Rental Equipment Software & System Management

  • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the Rental Equipment Management Software for all branches.
  • Coordinate with IT / software providers for system updates, issue resolution, user access, and escalations.
  • Ensure accurate data entry, process adherence, and utilization of the software across branch teams.

2. Monitoring, Analysis & Escalations

  • Monitor daily operational dashboards, fleet utilization reports, service logs, and TAT compliance.
  • Conduct trend analysis, identify deviations, and highlight abnormalities to relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive timely escalations for operational bottlenecks, system issues, and process non‑compliance.

3. Rental Fleet & FAR (Fixed Asset Register) Analysis

  • Track and analyse the Rental Fleet performance, availability, deployment, utilization, and downtime.
  • Maintain and verify FAR data related to rental equipment.
  • Identify underutilized assets and provide recommendations for redeployment or redistribution.

4. Branch RAU & Stock Request Analysis

  • Review RAU (Rental Asset Utilization) reports from branches.
  • Analyze stock requests to ensure demand justification, availability, and alignment with inventory planning.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and branch teams for stock fulfilment and optimization.

5. Branch Visits

  • Conduct periodic branch visits to assess operational processes, equipment condition, documentation, and software usage.
  • Prepare visit reports highlighting gaps, action plans, and process improvement opportunities.

6. Service Calls & Spares Consumption

  • Monitor service call logs, issue closure timelines, and service cost analysis.
  • Track spares consumption patterns, identify abnormalities, and optimize preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with service teams to ensure adherence to SLAs.

7. Revenue Monitoring

  • Analyze Branch-wise and System-wise revenue performance.
  • Identify revenue leakages, missed billing opportunities, or underutilization of rental assets.
  • Collaborate with sales and branch teams to improve revenue realization.

8. Licenses Monitoring

  • Maintain updated records of operational, software, and compliance-related licenses.
  • Track renewal cycles and ensure timely renewals to avoid business disruptions.

Skills & Competencies-

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP tools, and rental management software
  • Excellent coordination and communication abilities
  • Process‑driven mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to conduct audits and drive corrective actions
  • Operational problem‑solving and decision‑making capability

Qualifications & Experience -

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering / Commerce / Operations preferred)
  • 3–6 years of experience in operations, fleet management, logistics, or related fields
  • Experience in rental equipment operations will be an added advantage
