The Field Service Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality technical support and service across the inland region and bordering provinces. This includes fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on all Arjo equipment, while ensuring strong customer relationships and exceptional service standards. The role requires efficiency in call-out turnaround times, accurate technical assessments, and timely completion of services and repairs to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
As the Field Service Technician you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Service Delivery:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Arjo equipment to full operational functionality.
- Execute planned preventative maintenance and service level agreements.
- Complete warranty repairs and provide inspection reports to Quality & Regulatory Compliance (QRC).
- Perform field actions as required by the Quality team.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with customers.
- Conduct in-service training and product education sessions.
- Promote extended warranties, service level agreements, and preventative maintenance plans.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and professional service.
After sales & Business Development:
- Achieve sales targets for spare parts, oversee preventative maintenance contracts, and assessment services.
- Follow up on open quotes and promote service offerings.
Operational Excellence:
- Plan and execute service backorders and schedule call-outs.
- Complete job cards and maintain accurate records of all service activities.
- Manage stock for planned repairs and services.
- Maintain company vehicle in good condition and adhere to mileage and route planning protocols.
Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards for Arjo products.
- Ensure compliance with warranty processes and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent; relevant tertiary qualification advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years of field service experience.
- Strong technical, electrical and mechanical acumen.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license (Code 08/EB); PDP advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience driving a company vehicle.
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills
