Summary

 

The Engineering Manager, is the end to end single tread owner (STO) that works from concept to production, leveraging the engineering and business teams to define a program’s success and requirements, including, but not limited to, milestone schedules, manufacturing processes and tools, production and technical risk identification and mitigation plans, Contract Manufacturing (CM) and sourcing strategies. Requires work with all business stakeholders to execute on project milestones.  The Engineering Manager is responsible and accountable for the strategic implementation of equipment and all validation and verification activities to meet corporate goals and objectives. 

 

Communicates regularly with management on status, risks and change control.
 

Reporting

Reports to the Sr. Director of Manufacturing

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct supervisory responsibility for Engineers, Technicians, and contract staff. Servent Leadership.
  • Conduct regular department and one-on-one meetings with staff to resolve issues maintain engagement/focus and share updates on project and activities.
  • Develop skill sets of assigned staff to meet functional objectives, ReNu business objectives and employees' professional goals.
  • Coach and mentor engineers and team members
  • Plans and oversees strategic, operational, and administrative programs, projects, and/or services of broad significance to the organization.
  • Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program and operational effectiveness, and oversees programs/projects required for improvement.
  • Ensure effective Engineering inputs to RA/QA
  • Provides strategic advice and recommendations to leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of new or modified operating practices, and procedures within the specified functional area of focus.
  • Provides professional consultation and leadership to staff and serve as the principal point of contact on matters relating to project improvements.
  • Analyzes, designs, documents, and implements internal reporting systems and procedures for production operations.
  • Designs, coordinates, and implements training programs for personnel within the organization on new or modified operating processes and procedures.
  • Monitor and reports financial, schedule and technical performance of assigned projects.
  • Identify and coordinate resources necessary for production efforts.
  • Represent the organization to Senior Level Executives internally or externally on an as needed basis.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

Basic Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering, equivalant experience or combination of both.
  • 7+ years of project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners and DRIVE solutions.
  • Adept at earning trust, maintaining positive and professional relationships, and contributing to a culture of inclusion.
  • Experience with industrial equipment development lifecycle processes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects on tight deadlines – right the first time.
  • Experience managing CM’s
  • Experience using hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop a business KPI’s for managing the business.

 

Preferred Qualifications
 

  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop project business cases, and measure success.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience with multiple direct reports.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting bringing projects from conception through implementation in the factory.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience with a proven track record of successful project leadership within an ISO/ CFR/MDSAP/MDR (regulated) environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
  • Experience with advanced and/or emerging technologies.
  • 6 sigma Blackbelt is desired.
  • PMP Certification is desired.
