What is the Opportunity?
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Finance Accountant to join our team in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of our Japan business, including financial reporting, payroll, budgeting, tax documentation, and compliance with both local and global accounting standards. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial processes that support strategic business decisions.

We are looking for a person to: 

・    Prepare and support financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and budgets.
・    Ensure compliance with both local and Group financial regulations and standards.
・    Manage journal entries, account reconciliations, and timely payments.
・    Support payroll operations in collaboration with external service providers.
・    Assist in financial planning, forecasting, and strategic budgeting.
・    Contribute to tax documentation and ensure compliance with the Electronic Bookkeeping Act.
・    Analyze monthly operating results and support long-term financial planning.
・    Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to improve financial procedures.
・    Support ad-hoc financial requests and assist in contract and investment analysis.
 

The skills you will need:
・    Strong knowledge of finance, accounting principles, and Japanese tax regulations.
・    Experience with financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, SAGE X3).
・    Ability to produce accurate financial reports under tight deadlines.
・    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both Japanese and English.
・    High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
・    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
・    At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a small team setting.
・    Experience in healthcare finance or audit support is a plus.
