What is the Opportunity?
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Logistics officer to join our team in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the supply chain operations within an organization. Here are some of their key roles and responsibilities. You will support the Japanese logistics teams in all aspects of logistics operations, including transportation, storage, distribution, communication, documentation, compliance, and process improvement. Additionally, you will collaborate with Global Logistics teams to ensure local inputs drive global development projects and strategy.
We are looking for a person to:
- Create, develop, and manage the logistics engagement strategy within relevant product categories to increase market share and contribute to the overall financial ambition of the business.
- Perform all logistics activities in accordance with the strategic logistics plan and in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Deliver profitable growth by consistently increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving logistics operations.
- Contribute to the identification, development, and promotion of competitive advantages supporting the tactical management of wider logistics solutions.
- Achieve annual team and individual numerical targets related to logistics performance.
- Support commercial teams with customer-facing activities, including training (internal and external).
- Translate logistics strategy into detailed tactical plans supporting segment strategic logistics plans and overall commercial success.
- Create logistics planning documents such as business cases, launch plans, and logistics development plans.
- Collaborate closely with global and local stakeholders in the development, quality review, and implementation of logistics solutions.
The skills you will need:
- Detailed in-market customer and competitor insights related to logistics operations.
- Deep understanding of customer needs and challenges, with experience in customer discovery to build strong logistics solutions and positioning.
- Ability to ensure key logistics staff are well-trained and confident in managing logistics operations.
- Passion for logistics and the capacity to quickly absorb information related to logistics processes and systems.
- Strong support for commercial and logistics teams with high-level and frequent customer engagement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in relevant logistics management, supply chain management, or operations management roles within a healthcare environment.
- Ability to handle light physical manipulation and maintain safety standards.
