Position: Business Development Manager – Acute Care

Location: Field based – covering South West

Job type: Full Time, Permanent

 

The impact you will have

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for delivering profitable sales of products, services and ultimately solutions within the designated Acute Care sector.

This role will manage personal efficiency and effectiveness, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve world class KIPs and quality standards to delivery sustainable sales and market share growth within the Central UK region.

 

  • Sell products, services and solutions to customers to achieve and exceed targets
  • Work with the Head of Commercial Solutions to identify new business opportunities within the specific geographical region following the company strategy and more localized regional sales strategies
  • Utilize key Arjo market differentiators to provide additional value to customers, such as identifying areas where clinical audits such as ‘Insights’ will strengthen the Arjo proposition alongside more traditional group sales activities.
  • Work with Clinical Specialists to support trials, evaluations and Insights to drive sales growth
  • Build and maintain close business working relationships with the Sales Support Team in particular the Customer Solutions Executive in order to help support solution selling, new business opportunities and lead generation and maintaining current customer relationships
  • Prepare and delivery presentations, arranging visits to reference sites and negotiating on individual sales with customers
  • Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims and annual/cycle territory plans. Maximise efficiency and productivity, particularly to optimize customer-facing activities within the designated territory
  • Use SFDC Account Planning tools to prepare agreed Account Plans for major accounts, in conjunction with other Arjo teams supporting the account
  • Maintain a level of specialist clinical knowledge eg ergonomic/pressure ulcer prevention, to engage with customer clinical specialist. Identify areas for clinical assessments, which are essential to meet post sales customer service levels and contractual requirements
  • Monitor and report on personal, customer, market and competitor activities and provide relevant weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasts, reports and information via SFDC
  • As required, attend exhibitions and events in the UK, help set up and manage stands and follow up all leads
  • Take ownership of sales cycle including quotations, orders and enquiries. Communicate effectively with the regional and internal support teams, so that these are handled promptly at all times
  • Keep up-to-date with the Arjo product range, attend relevant training. Share knowledge and expertise with the team and new colleagues,
  • Adhere and comply with Arjo Guiding Principles, Code of Conduct, policies and procedures and standards. Compliance to UK&I regulations and legislations including Health & Safety, Anti-bribery and completion Law.

 

 

The skills you will need

It is essential to have a proven track record of sales within a similar customer facing role, ideally within Medical sales, nursing, or having an understanding of the medical sector in the UK.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, both over the phone and face to face, as well as being able to demonstrate professionalism and compassion at all times, as you will need to hand difficult conversations with customers at times.

You will also have the skills to problem solve and seek solutions logically, being resourceful and using your initiative. Organisation is key – you will be planning and organizing your own time and workload.

Due to this role being field based, you will need to hold a valid UK Driving Licence and be comfortable with overnight stays as and when they are required.
